The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Eugenio Martorella's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francesco Preda was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Eugenio Martorella received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Francesco Preda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 8 minutes into the game, Alessio Tenaglia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Armin Corsi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 21 minutes into the game, Ennio Marcolongo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Armin Corsi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Collegara getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Franco Ruggeri hit a great ball. If Alessio Tenaglia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 28 minutes, Biagio Pallini managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pontoncello AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Biagio Pallini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenio Martorella in the 31st minute of play forced Collegara's goalkeeper Francesco Preda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Francesco Preda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugenio Martorella in the 33rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Collegara's zone, Biagio Pallini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francesco Preda came out of the goal and Biagio Pallini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arturo Topatigh kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. In the 48th minute, one of Collegara:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Collegara. Dave Cocca placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out!

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eugenio Martorella was the one to do the kick off. After 59 played minutes Collegara got a freekick which was hit by Franco Ruggeri. Dave Cocca was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 60th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Armin Corsi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alessio Tenaglia in the 65th minute of play. If Eugenio Martorella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Biagio Pallini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Federico Ferreri charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Federico Ferreri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Pontoncello AFC booed when Collegara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Federico Ferreri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armin Corsi had great luck who in the 90thth minute grab hold of the ball when Alessio Tenaglia from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Francesco Preda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugenio Martorella, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Collegara players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
