Assago's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Genova AFC the free kick. Demetrio Tullio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Adriano Capobianco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Assago's Bernardo De Paolis got a free kick in the 11th minute. Anfilogino Chioda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 20th minute, Enzo Conti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anfilogino Chioda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aurelio Marulli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Aurelio Marulli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Vago, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Adriano Capobianco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Demetrio Tullio in the 35th minute of play. Eugenio Fava in the 36thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Adriano Capobianco, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Genova AFC's Demetrio Tullio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Adriano Capobianco. That made the score 1-0 after 37 minutes of play. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Genova AFC's goalkeeper Aurelio Marulli, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Genova AFC's Aurelio Marulli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anfilogino Chioda in the 43rd minute of play. Enzo Conti's late challenge caught a Assago's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enzo Conti helped the player get up and apologised.

Eugenio Fava fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Capobianco having to interfere. Demetrio Tullio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Demetrio Tullio in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adriano Capobianco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Adriano Capobianco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Demetrio Tullio, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute.
