If Amedeo Cicchetti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marcellise AFC's goalkeeper Fedele De Rubeis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. FC Spadolini's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Augusto Imperiale in the 16th minute. In the 20th minute, Amedeo Cicchetti left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Spadolini fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 26th minute of the match, Fausto Improta tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fedele De Rubeis saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 30 minutes into the game, Fausto Improta recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fedele De Rubeis. Fausto Improta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. FC Spadolini's Cristoforo Contestabile played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Piano in the 33rd minute of play. Fabrizio Vieri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristoforo Contestabile having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Amedeo Cicchetti made a precise shot to the right of Fedele De Rubeis. Marcellise AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Marcellise AFC's Fedele De Rubeis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 49th minute of the match, managed to save Marcellise AFC from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

In the 55th match minute, Marcellise AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Concetto Fallito to maneuver through the defense. Amedeo Cicchetti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Fedele De Rubeis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 61 minutes, Amedeo Cicchetti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Spadolini's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amedeo Cicchetti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 63 minutes into the match, FC Spadolini's Fausto Improta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fedele De Rubeis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 63rd match minute, Marcellise AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Biagio Magliocco to maneuver through the defense. Fausto Improta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fausto Improta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Marcellise AFC's Bernardo Circelli got a free kick in the 70th minute. When Fausto Improta came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the FC Spadolini fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fausto Improta couldn't finish the play. The supporters of FC Spadolini booed when Marcellise AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Circelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fedele De Rubeis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Improta, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Amedeo Cicchetti managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Spadolini's supporters rose to their feet, but Amedeo Cicchetti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fedele De Rubeis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fausto Improta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Fedele De Rubeis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 92 minutes, Amedeo Cicchetti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marcellise AFC's Fedele De Rubeis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Improta in the 97th minute of play. FC Spadolini walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
