The Porossan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 14 played minutes Velate AFC got a freekick which was hit by Daniele Ciccarelli. Corrado Iacovone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Fioriti having to interfere. After having played for 19 minutes, Cesare Berardo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Porossan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cesare Berardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frank Cacciatore blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ernesto De Lucia having to make a save. In the 24th minute, Comunardo Sorrentino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, Porossan's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Cacciatore came free, but Ernesto De Lucia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristiano Riso was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 26th minute. Velate AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The audience was convinced that Frank Cacciatore's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernesto De Lucia was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. 28 minutes into the match, Velate AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Corrado Iacovone came free, but Claudio Fioriti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Velate AFC's Claudio Fioriti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corrado Iacovone in the 30th minute of play. Cesare Berardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Fioriti having to interfere. A collision led to Velate AFC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Daniele Ciccarelli hit a great ball. Claudio Fioriti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Corrado Iacovone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute Cesare Berardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio Fioriti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Velate AFC's zone, Anselmo Bottega stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudio Fioriti came out of the goal and Anselmo Bottega tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claudio Fioriti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesare Berardo in the 46th minute of play. In the 48th minute of the match Porossan got a corner. Velate AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Andrea Finocchi ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Andrea Finocchi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Claudio Fioriti quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Corrado Iacovone stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Anselmo Bottega got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Corrado Iacovone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Velate AFC's Claudio Fioriti got control of the ball when Cesare Berardo tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Demetrio Iori fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Porossan's protests and gave Demetrio Iori a yellow card for diving instead. In the 69th minute of the match Ciro Cimino sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ernesto De Lucia skillfully saved the ball. Ernesto De Lucia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Riso in the 70th minute of play. After 73 minutes of play, Velate AFC's Cristiano Riso made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ernesto De Lucia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Frank Cacciatore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto De Lucia having to interfere. Cesare Berardos short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Claudio Fioriti to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Porossan's Ernesto De Lucia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Riso in the 90th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cesare Berardo got free with Claudio Fioriti in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Velate AFC's goalkeeper Claudio Fioriti, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Velate AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Porossan had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
