Beppe Della Francesca made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Arrigo Petrosino sent off a good shot on target. Giussano's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Arrigo Petrosino 10 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. Camillo Cocca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beppe Della Francesca having to interfere. After 16 minutes, Camillo Cocca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varlungo AFC and the Giussano players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th minute, one of Varlungo AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Varlungo AFC. The referee gave Giussano a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alberto Milanese, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Varlungo AFC's Andrea Uguccioni. 1-2. 24 minutes into the game, Beppe Giusti was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Giussano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Varlungo AFC the free kick. After 24 played minutes Giussano got a freekick which was hit by Beppe Giusti. Bernardo Grossi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Beppe Della Francesca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Corrado Palmisano struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Beppe Della Francesca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varlungo AFC. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Giussano's goalkeeper Beppe Della Francesca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 35th match minute, Giussano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edoardo Canzano to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Bernardo Grossi in the 35th minute really tested Beppe Della Francesca's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Corrado Palmisano was the one to do the kick off. Giussano's Anselmo Negri got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Armin Pascucci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Varlungo AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Corrado Palmisano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Angelo Pio hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Anselmo Negri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Giussano's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Negri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
