If Arrigo Petrosino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16 minutes into the match, Savonarola's goalkeeper Enrico De Lorenzi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arrigo Petrosino. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Arrigo Petrosino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varlungo AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arrigo Petrosino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enrico De Lorenzi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Savonarola's Enrico De Lorenzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corrado Palmisano in the 19th minute of play. After 21 played minutes Varlungo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Camillo Cocca. After a rather tough play, Varlungo AFC's Fulvio Gigli got a free kick in the 24th minute. 25 minutes into the game, Savonarola's Biagio Bianchini nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Andrea Uguccioni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Savonarola's Biagio Bianchini got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 30 minutes of play, Savonarola's Alessio Zappacosta made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andrea Uguccioni was left in no man's land by his defense there! Andrea Uguccioni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Biagio Bianchini in the 38th minute of the match. A collision led to Varlungo AFC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Camillo Cocca hit a great ball. When Varlungo AFC's Corrado Palmisano in 45 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Enrico De Lorenzi guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After 46 played minutes Savonarola got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Schiacciacasse. In the 48th minute of the match, Corrado Palmisano tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Enrico De Lorenzi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Corrado Palmisano was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Biagio Bianchini's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andrea Uguccioni was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Angelo Pio charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Angelo Pio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Savonarola booed when Varlungo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Pio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alessio Zappacosta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Andrea Uguccioni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alessio Zappacostas short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Andrea Uguccioni to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 65th minute, Fulvio Gigli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Biagio Bianchini came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Savonarola fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Biagio Bianchini couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Varlungo AFC booed when Savonarola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessio Zappacosta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Biagio Bianchini's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 76thth minute, Andrea Uguccioni skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Enrico De Lorenzi came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Varlungo AFC's Arrigo Petrosino. But to his dismay, Arrigo Petrosino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. When Armando Maia fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varlungo AFC's protests and gave Armando Maia a yellow card for diving instead. After 87 played minutes Varlungo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Armando Maia. The supporters of Savonarola booed when Varlungo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Pio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute, Biagio Bianchini fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The Varlungo AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Savonarola's performance. The match ended with a win for Savonarola.
