Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Comunardo De Palma made the kick off and thus started the match. If Comunardo De Palma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Beppe Fabrizio came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Costabissara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beppe Fabrizio couldn't finish the play. Comunardo De Palma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Aldo Santone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Alessio Grossi came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Mensa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alessio Grossi couldn't finish the play. 26 minutes into the match, Costabissara's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Sisti came free, but Christian Urbani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Costabissara's zone, Adriano Sisti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Urbani came out of the goal and Adriano Sisti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 32 minutes into the match, Mensa's goalkeeper Aldo Santone had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Beppe Fabrizio. Achille Scudieri kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Aldo Santone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Comunardo De Palma in the 36th minute of play. When Ciccio Gelsomini fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costabissara's protests and gave Ciccio Gelsomini a yellow card for diving instead. After 41 played minutes Costabissara got a freekick which was hit by Ciccio Gelsomini. After a defensive mix-up in Costabissara's zone, Alessio Grossi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Urbani came out of the goal and Alessio Grossi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alessio Grossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Christian Urbani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alessio Grossi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Alessio Grossi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christian Urbani was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Christian Urbani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alessio Grossi in the 61st minute of play. Christian Urbani came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Mensa's Alessio Grossi. But to his dismay, Alessio Grossi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Comunardo De Palma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Aldo Santone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Comunardo De Palma's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aldo Santone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. If Alessio Grossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mensa's Alessio Grossi got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Beppe Fabrizio struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Aldo Santone didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costabissara. Comunardo De Palma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 93 played minutes, Costabissara's Augusto Ranieri shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aldo Santone came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Costabissara reached it. Comunardo De Palma's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aldo Santone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mensa eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
