The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 6 played minutes Chiavelli got a freekick which was hit by Emilio Vinci. 7 minutes into the match, Chiavelli's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Marcolongo came free, but Edmondo Santarelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fortunato Polimeno hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Felice Ceccon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edmondo Santarelli having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Emilio Vinci managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chiavelli's supporters rose to their feet, but Emilio Vinci was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Biagio Cauli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Felice Ceccon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 25 played minutes, Chiavelli's Fabrizio Cangiano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Biagio Cauli came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chiavelli reached it. Biagio Cauli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Vinci, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After a rather tough play, Fado AFC's Fedele Orsi got a free kick in the 27th minute. If Fabio Cristofari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. Emilio Vinci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Felice Ceccon was the one to do the kick off. If Fabio Cristofari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fortunato Polimeno's late challenge caught a Fado AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fado AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chiavelli the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 72nd minute of the game. One of Fado AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chiavelli:s goal. Emilio Vinci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emilio Vinci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Biagio Cauli having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Fado AFC's Edoardo Cappucci got a free kick in the 89th minute. Biagio Cauli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilio Vinci in the 92nd minute of play. Biagio Cauli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabio Cristofari, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Fabio Cristofari sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Emilio Vinci might have been able to make a better finish in the 98th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Biagio Cauli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emilio Vinci ran back to his position shaking his head. When Fabio Cristofari came up free with the goalie in the 99th minute, the Chiavelli fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabio Cristofari couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Chiavelli fully deserved thier win.
