Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Paggi FC's Franco Porcu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Comunardo Cantagallo during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Poggio booed when Paggi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Comunardo Cantagallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franco Milanese was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 4th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 7th minute, Christian Demaria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paggi FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabiano Rainaldi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 45 minutes into the match, Paggi FC's goalkeeper Cristiano Allemandi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alex Gava.

The referee ignored Poggio's protests and gave Adriano Primavera a yellow card for diving instead. The Paggi FC fans' excitement grew in the 92nd match minute when Paggi FC's Fabiano Rainaldi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Fabiano Rainaldi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paggi FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabiano Rainaldi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arturo Piscitelli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
