But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberigo Ucci couldn't finish the play. In the 15th match minute, Real Magrid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amedeo Angelucci to maneuver through the defense. After 16 played minutes Real Magrid got a freekick which was hit by Amedeo Caligaris. Thanks to some nice moves Claudio Polito could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Fabiano De Matteis however easily saved by the left post. The supporters of Inter Milan booed when Real Magrid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amedeo Angelucci didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabiano De Matteis came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Inter Milan's Claudio Polito. But to his dismay, Claudio Polito quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When Inter Milan's Armin Mozzoni in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Real Magrid's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Tomei in the 27th minute of play forced Real Magrid's goalkeeper Fabiano De Matteis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Inter Milan's Claudio Polito nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabiano De Matteis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Francesco Lampa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberigo Ucci in the 31st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Real Magrid's Anthony Patricelli got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Fabiano De Matteis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armin Mozzoni in the 39th minute of play. Armin Mozzoni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amedeo Caligaris kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Claudio Polito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th minute, Frank Tomei reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fabiano De Matteis. The goal made the score 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Armin Mozzoni made a kick off. In the 54th minute Frank Tomei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiano De Matteis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Real Magrid getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Alberigo Ucci hit a great ball. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Inter Milan's goalkeeper Francesco Lampa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
