The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. LATIUM's Fausto De Bonis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davide La Marca in the 4th minute of play. When As Melfi 1929's Davide La Marca in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye LATIUM's goalie prevented a goal. The corner ended in Napoleon Walaszkiewicz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but LATIUM's Fausto De Bonis did a great save. With an all-out effort, LATIUM's Eraldo Bulla threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Amerigo Buffone, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 15th minute Amerigo Buffone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eraldo Bulla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eraldo Bulla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amerigo Buffone in the 16th minute of play. Alfonso Giovannellis short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Eraldo Bulla to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. As Melfi 1929's Eraldo Bulla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Giovannelli in the 20th minute of play. Carlo Miccio took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fausto De Bonis. Fausto De Bonis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Davide La Marca in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fausto De Bonis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eraldo Bulla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfonso Giovannelli in the 31st minute. Armin Palmisano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eraldo Bulla having to interfere. With a little luck, As Melfi 1929's Eraldo Bulla got control of the ball when Alfonso Giovannelli tried to sneak it across the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, LATIUM's goal looked a bit too open when Carlo Miccio came free, but Fausto De Bonis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute Davide La Marca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto De Bonis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42ndth minute of the game Davide La Marca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but LATIUM's Fausto De Bonis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eraldo Bulla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aurelio Oriali in the 45th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Davide La Marca was the one to do the kick off. Cristoforo Caiola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Eraldo Bulla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eraldo Bulla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amerigo Buffone in the 60th minute of the match. After 62 minutes As Melfi 1929's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hector Ventura who took care of the corner kick. LATIUM's Hector Ventura was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Eraldo Bulla in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 64th match minute, LATIUM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donovan Ambrose to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Amerigo Buffone put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Eraldo Bulla. Eraldo Bulla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amerigo Buffone in the 70th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfonso Giovannelli in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eraldo Bulla saved As Melfi 1929 from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davide La Marca in the 76th minute of play forced LATIUM's goalkeeper Fausto De Bonis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, As Melfi 1929's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Giovannelli came free, but Eraldo Bulla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fausto De Bonis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Davide La Marca in the 84th minute. Eraldo Bulla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurelio Oriali in the 87th minute of the match. A collision led to LATIUM getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Enrico Ferraresi hit a great ball. LATIUM made a substitution. Attilio De Tommasi replaced Armin Palmisano. After a defensive mix-up in LATIUM's zone, Davide La Marca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fausto De Bonis came out of the goal and Davide La Marca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 92 played minutes LATIUM got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Romanese. With 96 minutes on the clock, 冯泉辉 commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in As Melfi 1929 fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 95th minute. Penalty! As Melfi 1929:s Eraldo Bulla showed great skill when he stopped Enrico Ferraresi:s penalty. When the referee ended the match the LATIUM players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
