In the 3rd minute Felice Apicella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Schirru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fi.Lan.Ti Ps's Alvaro Schirru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Scofield in the 6th minute of play. Campania Ponticelli's Fausto De Marchi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rooney Garrido in the 10th minute of play. A collision led to Campania Ponticelli getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Luca Toni hit a great ball. Anthony Chiola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alvaro Schirru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felice Apicella, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alvaro Schirru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giorgio Petrini in the 15th minute of play. After 22 played minutes Campania Ponticelli got a freekick which was hit by Flavio Palmisano. After some careless play in the Campania Ponticelli defense, Ermanno De Gregorio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fausto De Marchi. The Campania Ponticelli fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fausto De Marchi should have stopped the shot. Fausto De Marchi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rooney Garrido, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 35th minute Michael Scofield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Schirru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Campania Ponticelli's goal looked a bit too open when Rooney Garrido came free, but Fausto De Marchi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Fi.Lan.Ti Ps's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Scofield came free, but Alvaro Schirru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Toni in the 40th minute of play forced Fi.Lan.Ti Ps's goalkeeper Alvaro Schirru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Dino Ferri fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fi.Lan.Ti Ps's protests and gave Dino Ferri a yellow card for diving instead. Dino Ferri kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Michael Scofield notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Fi.Lan.Ti Ps's Alvaro Schirru. Alvaro Schirru was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Giorgio Petrini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Alvaro Schirru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rooney Garrido to strike the kick off in the second half. Alvaro Schirru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Scofield in the 53rd minute of play. Fi.Lan.Ti Ps's Alvaro Schirru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Fi.Lan.Ti Ps from getting a goal against them. In the 68th minute Antonello Marzulli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto De Marchi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fi.Lan.Ti Ps's Alvaro Schirru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Fi.Lan.Ti Ps from getting a goal against them. Alvaro Schirru came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Campania Ponticelli's Luca Toni. But to his dismay, Luca Toni quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. If Armin Mauro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvaro Schirru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Toni in the 81st minute of the match. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Luca Toni sped through Fi.Lan.Ti Ps's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alvaro Schirru. With his leg Alvaro Schirru managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when Campania Ponticelli's Luca Toni fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Felice Apicella kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Campania Ponticelli made a substitution. Amos Di Liddo replaced Michael Scofield. In the 88th match minute, Campania Ponticelli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felice Apicella to maneuver through the defense. After 89 minutes, Luca Toni mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Campania Ponticelli and the Fi.Lan.Ti Ps players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th minute, Luca Toni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Luca Toni could shoot a difficult shot in the 94th minute, which Alvaro Schirru however easily saved by the left post. The Campania Ponticelli supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Campania Ponticelli would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
