Vince Berta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mátyás Tímár, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. If Kálmán Marton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Kálmán Marton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vince Berta was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Kálmán Marton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vince Berta having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Máté Ács dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Richárd Kováts, 1-0. After having played for 19 minutes, Máté Ács managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dunaújváros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Máté Ács was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Miklós Zornánszky fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richárd Kováts having to interfere. After 23 played minutes Dunaújváros got a freekick which was hit by Sándor Szűrös. Ferenc Tököli, 24 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Richárd Kováts made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Máté Ács sent off a good shot on target. Miklós Zornánszky received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Richárd Kováts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Csököly Spartacus's zone, Máté Ács stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Richárd Kováts came out of the goal and Máté Ács tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Miklós Zornánszky scored 2-0 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Richárd Kováts, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mátyás Tímár to make the kick off. When Máté Ács came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Dunaújváros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Máté Ács couldn't finish the play. Dunaújváros's Vince Berta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mátyás Tímár in the 53rd minute of play. In the 59th minute Máté Ács shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richárd Kováts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Csököly Spartacus getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Vince Ludas hit a great ball. In the 66th match minute, Csököly Spartacus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonz Szalai to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Máté Ács in the 67th minute of play forced Csököly Spartacus's goalkeeper Richárd Kováts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Máté Ács came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Dunaújváros fans jumped to their feet. Csököly Spartacus's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dunaújváros the free kick. A collision led to Csököly Spartacus getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Vince Ludas hit a great ball. If Máté Ács had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Máté Ács sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
