Kisújszállás VTK's László Magyar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gábor Havasi in the 19th minute of play. Gábor Havasi scored 0-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of László Magyar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 23rd minute, József Rigó ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Endre Vén was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The audience was convinced that Elemér Józsa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Endre Vén was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. 29 minutes into the game, József Rigó cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vilmos Lévay made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, Kisújszállás VTK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Csaba Kodály to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Pórszombat booed when Kisújszállás VTK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Csaba Kodály didn't get a good kick on the ball. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pórszombat would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
