Endre Váradi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Imre Mátyás blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Róbert Demeter having to make a save. Endre Váradi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferenc Czibor, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Ferenc Czibor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd match minute, FC Viola City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by András Kocsis to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Kristóf Erdélyi in the 43rd minute really tested Endre Váradi's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After having played for 45 minutes, Ferenc Czibor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Somogyvár EAC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferenc Czibor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 46 minutes into the game, Somogyvár EAC's Zsolt Barabás nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Endre Váradi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zsolt Barabás to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zsolt Barabás in the 63rd minute of play forced FC Viola City's goalkeeper Endre Váradi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute, Zsolt Barabás made a precise shot to the right of Endre Váradi. FC Viola City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Ferenc Czibor kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. When Imre Mátyás fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Viola City's protests and gave Imre Mátyás a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Somogyvár EAC booed when FC Viola City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Imre Mátyás didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zsolt Barabás struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Endre Váradi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Somogyvár EAC.
