Álmos Kiss showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antal Polyák, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Ádám Szűrös hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Ábel Jakab sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the game, Richárd Földvári was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nagytevel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Szamosújlak the free kick. After 17 played minutes Nagytevel got a freekick which was hit by Richárd Földvári. After having played for 19 minutes, László Mátrai managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Szamosújlak's supporters crossed their fingers, but László Mátrai was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Szamosújlak's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Pál Horváth in the 29th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Szamosújlak's goal looked a bit too open when Ábel Jakab came free, but Álmos Kiss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Ábel Jakab had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Álmos Kiss. Szamosújlak's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ábel Jakab was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The audience was convinced that Ábel Jakab's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Álmos Kiss was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Ábel Jakab sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Béla Kis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Álmos Kiss stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ábel Jakab's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Márton Szőnyi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Álmos Kiss tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 58 played minutes Szamosújlak got a freekick which was hit by Roland Danka. After a defensive mix-up in Szamosújlak's zone, Antal Polyák stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Álmos Kiss came out of the goal and Antal Polyák tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Ábel Jakab managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nagytevel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ábel Jakab was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 68th minute László Mátrai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gusztáv Gervai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Álmos Kiss managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Nagytevel's Ábel Jakab fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 81st match minute, Szamosújlak was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milán Dárdai to maneuver through the defense. Ábel Jakab might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Álmos Kiss. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ábel Jakab ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Szamosújlak's zone, Márton Szőnyi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Álmos Kiss came out of the goal and Márton Szőnyi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Ábel Jakab managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nagytevel's supporters rose to their feet, but Ábel Jakab was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Álmos Kiss breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 93 minutes into the game, László Mátrai cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Gusztáv Gervai was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Nagytevel supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nagytevel would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
