In the 11th match minute, Hedrehely VTK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Balázs Lőrinc to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gyula Pulai got free with Tihamér Sós in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 47 minutes into the match, Zsarolyán's goal looked a bit too open when József Bíró came free, but Tihamér Sós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell József Bíró to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Hedrehely VTK's Gyula Pulai sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tihamér Sós narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Zsarolyán getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Ignác Kásás hit a great ball. Tihamér Sós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from József Bíró, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hedrehely VTK's Kornél Havas pulled a muscle in his back after 55 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After a rather tough play, Zsarolyán's Albert Bodor got a free kick in the 56th minute. Gyula Pulai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tihamér Sós having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, Gyula Pulai had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tihamér Sós. Zsarolyán's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gyula Pulai was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After 70 played minutes Hedrehely VTK got a freekick which was hit by Dömötör Menyhért. Árpád Takács, 71 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gyula Pulai in the 73rd minute of play forced Zsarolyán's goalkeeper Tihamér Sós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Soma Révész succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 78th playminute. In the 82nd minute, Szabolcs Tímár made a precise shot to the right of Lajos Kocsis. Hedrehely VTK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Zsarolyán's Szabolcs Tímár got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 96 minutes, Szabolcs Tímár managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zsarolyán's supporters crossed their fingers, but Szabolcs Tímár was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
