The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ferdinánd Boros hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Ervin Pécsi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gáspár Kántor having to interfere. After 23 played minutes Szegvár SK got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinánd Boros. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Béla Gömöri sped through Szegvár SK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Roland Tóth. István Markó charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed István Markó the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Encs getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. István Markó hit a great ball. When Ervin Pécsi got free in front of the goal in the 42nd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Gáspár Kántor was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. A collision led to Encs getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Péter Rácz hit a great ball. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Encs's goalkeeper Gáspár Kántor, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lajos Fülöp was the one to do the kick off. Tibor Nyúl came free with the goalkeeper in the 55th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Roland Tóth could save by the left post. Szegvár SK's Ferdinánd Boros got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lénárd Újházi hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. When Ervin Pécsi, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 59 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Gáspár Kántor was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Szegvár SK's Ferdinánd Boros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gáspár Kántor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Béla Gömöri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Roland Tóth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
