Danijel Vulić charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Danijel Vulić the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Danijel Vulić hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kastav Učka's goalkeeper Leo Poljak, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Predrag Mikulić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Juraj Đalski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Kastav Učka's zone, August Latković stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leo Poljak came out of the goal and August Latković tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leo Poljak made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Valter Kancir sent off a good shot on target. In the 21st minute, Danijel Vulić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teo Prebježić was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 22nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Predrag Mikulić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Časlav Grgurević charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 28th minute, Jakov Pufler made a precise shot to the right of Juraj Đalski. Krapinske Toplice's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Krapinske Toplice were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after Kastav Učka's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Teo Prebježić took the corner. The corner ended in August Latković almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Kastav Učka's Leo Poljak did a great save. Karlo Poznić kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Valter Kancir fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leo Poljak having to interfere. Valter Kancir's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leo Poljak read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Stanislav Trninić kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Borislav Vlahović recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Predrag Mikulić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juraj Đalski having to interfere. The supporters of Krapinske Toplice booed when Kastav Učka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danijel Vulić didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Borislav Vlahović had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leo Poljak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valter Kancir in the 78th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jakov Pufler in the 78th minute of play forced Krapinske Toplice's goalkeeper Juraj Đalski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Jakov Pufler came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Kastav Učka fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jakov Pufler couldn't finish the play. When Gustav Vucić fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Krapinske Toplice's protests and gave Gustav Vucić a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Krapinske Toplice's zone, Predrag Mikulić stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juraj Đalski came out of the goal and Predrag Mikulić tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
