Filip Martinčević charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Filip Martinčević the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 7th match minute, NK Maksimir was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filip Martinčević to maneuver through the defense. Krsto Erdelez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Vladimir Stjelja tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Krsto Erdelez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oporovec Polet's supporters rose to their feet, but Krsto Erdelez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vladimir Stjelja breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th match minute, NK Maksimir was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erik Vračarić to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute, Dado Renje got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vladimir Stjelja took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Krsto Erdelez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dado Renje fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimir Stjelja having to interfere. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when August Ladović made the kick off in the second half. Krsto Erdelez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimir Stjelja having to interfere. Stjepan Dedaj recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Dado Renje had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Krsto Erdelez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 68th minute, Dado Renje got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Krsto Erdelez might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vladimir Stjelja. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Krsto Erdelez ran back to his position shaking his head. Dado Renje sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Erik Vračarić fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored NK Maksimir's protests and gave Erik Vračarić a yellow card for diving instead. If Dado Renje had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute Krsto Erdelez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimir Stjelja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. NK Maksimir's Erik Vračarić got his second yellow card of the match in the 93rd minute. The referee ordered Erik Vračarić off the ground. The supporters of Oporovec Polet booed when NK Maksimir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Vračarić didn't get a good kick on the ball. Krsto Erdelez struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Vladimir Stjelja didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oporovec Polet. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Oporovec Polet players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
