Vjenceslav Hržić recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Šandor Nalis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jurica Rožić went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Šandor Nalis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vjenceslav Hržić, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Sebastijan Matijević received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Šandor Nalis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, HNK Rijeka's goalkeeper Šandor Nalis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vjenceslav Hržić. Sebastijan Matijević received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Šandor Nalis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Šandor Nalis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vjenceslav Hržić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastijan Matijević sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute, Saša Smolić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 20th match minute, HNK Rijeka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cvjetko Krstinić to maneuver through the defense. After 21 played minutes HNK Rijeka got a freekick which was hit by Leon Kebet. In the 23rd minute of the match Kruno Balestrin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Šandor Nalis skillfully saved the ball. In the 29th minute, Vjenceslav Hržić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Teodor Vadanjel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anđelko Mitrović, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Vjenceslav Hržić took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Šandor Nalis to make any attempt to save it. Anđelko Mitrović charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anđelko Mitrović the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Zelina booed when HNK Rijeka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anđelko Mitrović didn't get a good kick on the ball. HNK Rijeka's Šandor Nalis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jurica Rožić in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Vjenceslav Hržić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Vjenceslav Hržić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zelina's supporters rose to their feet, but Vjenceslav Hržić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Šandor Nalis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leon Kebet during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vjenceslav Hržić stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zelina's Egon Radović quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leon Kebet, made in the 52nd minute of the game. Egon Radović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastijan Matijević's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Šandor Nalis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Vjenceslav Hržić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Šandor Nalis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Jurica Rožić notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of HNK Rijeka's Šandor Nalis. Šandor Nalis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 72 minutes, Saša Smolić made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. HNK Rijeka's Šandor Nalis tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jurica Rožić kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After 92 played minutes HNK Rijeka got a freekick which was hit by Zdeslav Haramina. After having played for 95 minutes, Vjenceslav Hržić managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zelina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vjenceslav Hržić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Zelina fully deserved thier win.
