Blaž Puzak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zvonimir Radeta's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. After a rather tough play, Dragonožec's Viktor Parić got a free kick in the 14th minute. When Zdenko Frank came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Mali Erjavec fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zdenko Frank couldn't finish the play. Zdenko Frank might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Blaž Puzak. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zdenko Frank ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Oliver Mamlić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dragonožec's supporters rose to their feet, but Oliver Mamlić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valter Turčin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bojan Viduka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Valter Turčin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oliver Mamlić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valter Turčin having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Dragonožec's goal looked a bit too open when Zvonimir Radeta came free, but Blaž Puzak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bojan Viduka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valter Turčin having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 35th minute by Zvonimir Radeta got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Mile Karuza charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mile Karuza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 36th match minute, Dragonožec was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mile Karuza to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Dragonožec's Blaž Puzak got control of the ball when Zdenko Frank tried to sneak it across the goal line. 48 minutes into the match, Dragonožec's goalkeeper Blaž Puzak had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zdenko Frank. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Bojan Viduka made the kick off in the second half. When Zvonimir Radeta came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Mali Erjavec fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zvonimir Radeta couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zvonimir Radeta in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Blaž Puzak saved Dragonožec from getting behind. Valter Turčin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bojan Viduka in the 61st minute of the match. Zdenko Frank struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Blaž Puzak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mali Erjavec. A collision led to Dragonožec getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Srećko Tudor hit a great ball. Zdenko Frank sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oliver Mamlić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valter Turčin having to interfere. Valter Turčin was a little too slow when Bojan Viduka got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 0-1. Blaž Puzak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zdenko Frank in the 89th minute of the match. 1-1 became the score in the 91st minute when Zdenko Frank elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Zvonimir Radeta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mali Erjavec were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
