Augustin Vlahović kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Trpimir Lukinović took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 5th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Renato Brdarić. Soljani Kalnik's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Andrej Mandaković had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Gornja Stubica Val's Matko Stemberger got a free kick in the 17th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Soljani Kalnik's Želimir Roža sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Teofil Kovačević narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Gornja Stubica Val booed when Soljani Kalnik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Velimir Tošić didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trpimir Lukinović was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 21st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 24 minutes into the match, Soljani Kalnik's goal looked a bit too open when Gvozden Babić came free, but Renato Brdarić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Soljani Kalnik's Roko Rogić got a free kick in the 29th minute. The audience held their breath when Trpimir Lukinović in the 31st minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Renato Brdarić's left hand side. Gornja Stubica Val's Teofil Kovačević proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Gornja Stubica Val from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Gornja Stubica Val's Anđelko Antonić got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Andrej Mandaković's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Teofil Kovačević firmly grabbed it by the left post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Želimir Roža made the kick off in the second half. Renato Brdarić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matko Stemberger in the 51st minute of play. In the 52nd minute, Trpimir Lukinović hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Soljani Kalnik's Roko Rogić got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 56th minute, one of Gornja Stubica Val:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gornja Stubica Val. Andrej Mandaković fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teofil Kovačević having to interfere. Želimir Roža received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Teofil Kovačević tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the game, Soljani Kalnik's Želimir Roža nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Teofil Kovačević made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vladimir Šošić in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Renato Brdarić prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Gornja Stubica Val getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Trpimir Lukinović hit a great ball. Želimir Roža received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Teofil Kovačević tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gvozden Babić in the 78thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Renato Brdarić, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience was convinced that Vladimir Šošić's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Renato Brdarić was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vladimir Šošić in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Renato Brdarić saved Soljani Kalnik from getting behind. Vladimir Šošić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Renato Brdarić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimir Šošić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matko Stemberger in the 99th minute of play forced Soljani Kalnik's goalkeeper Renato Brdarić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Soljani Kalnik fans cheered their team off the field, for while Gornja Stubica Val had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
