After 16 played minutes HNK VAVO Rajić got a freekick which was hit by Mladen Paljan. Nk Borongaj Zagreb's Žarko Muić couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 17th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for HNK VAVO Rajić. A collision led to HNK VAVO Rajić getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Sandi Janeš hit a great ball. When Despot Markeš came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Nk Borongaj Zagreb fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Despot Markeš couldn't finish the play. Sandi Janeš kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Toma Bošnjak was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Toma Bošnjak notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Nk Borongaj Zagreb's Adilson da Rocha. After a rather tough play, HNK VAVO Rajić's Leopold Antunović got a free kick in the 75th minute. Roman Barišin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Velimir Mraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, HNK VAVO Rajić's goalkeeper Velimir Mraz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Despot Markeš. Roman Barišin's late challenge caught a HNK VAVO Rajić's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roman Barišin helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of HNK VAVO Rajić booed when Nk Borongaj Zagreb was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position.
