The supporters of Clapiers booed when Konacker was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Junior Brahimi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pierre-Emmanuel Petit sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Boulange in the 54th minute of play forced Konacker's goalkeeper Calvin Bordeaux to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Dilan Schutz came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Clapiers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dilan Schutz couldn't finish the play. Clapiers's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
