Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Marvin Baril started the match with the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marvin Baril in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marc Benquet saved Velaux from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Rene Chapelon took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Edouard Ettori to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marvin Baril in the 11th minute of play forced Velaux's goalkeeper Marc Benquet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marvin Baril fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marc Benquet having to interfere. Marvin Baril sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Eguilles getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Yvan Allanic hit a great ball. Edouard Ettori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charlie Salesse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marc Benquet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marvin Baril in the 31st minute of play. A collision led to Velaux getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Martin Celestin hit a great ball. Charlie Salesse could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Edouard Ettori made a huge save. Yvan Allanic's late challenge caught a Velaux's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yvan Allanic helped the player get up and apologised. After 38 played minutes Eguilles got a freekick which was hit by Yvan Allanic. If Rene Chapelon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edouard Ettori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Chapelon in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Velaux's Rene Chapelon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Edouard Ettori. Edouard Ettori yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rene Chapelon was the one to do the kick off. Edouard Ettori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Salesse in the 56th minute of play. Velaux's Marc Benquet proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Velaux from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marvin Baril in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marc Benquet prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brandon Carrillo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 64thth minute, Marc Benquet skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 65 minutes into the game, Velaux's Rene Chapelon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edouard Ettori made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Brandon Carrillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marc Benquet having to interfere. In the 72ndth minute of the game Marvin Baril who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Velaux's Marc Benquet was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Martin Celestin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the match, Velaux's goal looked a bit too open when Yvan Allanic came free, but Marc Benquet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brandon Carrillo got free with Marc Benquet in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Marvin Baril had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Velaux had won after a very even match.
