Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Noel Cayet got the match started through his kick off. Maurice Demestre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ange Maigne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ange Maigne might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Philippe Jegouzo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ange Maigne ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Maurice Demestre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gaudière's supporters rose to their feet, but Maurice Demestre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Philippe Jegouzo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Gaspard Ganivet fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grenay's protests and gave Gaspard Ganivet a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Grenay's Gaspard Ganivet got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 16th minute, Maurice Demestre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paul-Henri Compain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidney Dubuisson in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Gaspard Ganivet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Noel Cayet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Paul-Henri Compain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paul-Henri Compain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel Cayet in the 42nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Gaudière's Maurice Demestre slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Philippe Jegouzo. That made the score 1-0 after 45 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Maurice Demestre made a kick off. Sidney Dubuisson might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paul-Henri Compain. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sidney Dubuisson ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 60th match minute, Gaudière was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugène Derrien to maneuver through the defense. Bertrand Leveque took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 64th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Paul-Henri Compain. Gaudière's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Moïse Le Garrec kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. When Maurice Demestre came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Gaudière fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maurice Demestre couldn't finish the play. Ange Maigne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Philippe Jegouzo having to interfere. Gaudière's Paul-Henri Compain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Cayet in the 74th minute of play. Maurice Demestre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 78 minutes, Maurice Demestre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gaudière's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maurice Demestre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Grenay's zone, Maurice Demestre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philippe Jegouzo came out of the goal and Maurice Demestre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gaudière's Paul-Henri Compain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Cayet in the 91st minute of play. Gaudière were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Grenay for a fine match.
