Joseph Lorentz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chris Boussin, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. When Herbert Letertre fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pia's protests and gave Herbert Letertre a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Pia's Herbert Letertre got a free kick in the 25th minute. Jules Tuffery recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chris Boussin struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Joseph Lorentz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pia. Steve Labrousse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 36thth minute of the game Steve Labrousse who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pia's Theo Perrochon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stephane Frick during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Blanzat getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Stephane Frick hit a great ball. 41 minutes into the match, Pia's goal looked a bit too open when Carl Raux came free, but Theo Perrochon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

In the 52nd minute, Steve Labrousse left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Blanzat fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Jules Tuffery fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Lorentz having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Davy Detrez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blanzat's supporters rose to their feet, but Davy Detrez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Theo Perrochon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Herbert Letertre's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joseph Lorentz was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game.
