Joaquim Dano kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Theophile Arnal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Patrick Pollet. Belleville's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Theophile Arnal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Patrick Pollet made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Ghislain Simonot sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Mondeville's Patrick Pollet threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Theophile Arnal, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Belleville's Jacques Georget in 24 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Jean-Charles Bataillard guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After 25 minutes of play, Belleville's Jacques Georget made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jean-Charles Bataillard was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 30th minute, Ghislain Simonot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thierry Pomarede in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jean-Charles Bataillard saved Mondeville from getting behind. The Belleville fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Belleville's Jacques Georget looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 41st minute Theophile Arnal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Pollet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mondeville's Jean-Charles Bataillard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thierry Pomarede in the 44th minute of play. Jean-Charles Bataillard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacques Georget, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacques Georget made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Leonard Gatignol's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patrick Pollet was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mondeville's goalkeeper Jean-Charles Bataillard, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jacques Georget fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Charles Bataillard having to interfere. The supporters of Mondeville booed when Belleville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harold Costantini didn't get a good kick on the ball. 87 minutes into the game, Belleville's Thierry Pomarede nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jean-Charles Bataillard made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. The Mondeville supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Belleville's performance. The match ended with a win for Belleville.
