Garches's supporters crossed their fingers, but Theophile Antonelli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Walter Chassaing got free with Jean-Baptiste Lasson in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bixente Bosc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Baptiste Lasson having to interfere. If Antoine Audet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Theophile Antonelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bagneux's Matthieu Nicoud played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theophile Antonelli in the 16th minute of play. After some careless play in the Garches defense, Walter Chassaing kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jean-Baptiste Lasson. The Garches fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jean-Baptiste Lasson should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Theophile Antonelli in the 26th minute of play forced Bagneux's goalkeeper Matthieu Nicoud to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 27 played minutes Bagneux got a freekick which was hit by Herve Deflandre. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Theophile Antonelli sped through Bagneux's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Matthieu Nicoud. A collision led to Garches getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Matthieu Caillol hit a great ball. Walter Chassaing struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Jean-Baptiste Lasson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bagneux. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roger Vernet was the one to do the kick off. Garches's Roger Vernet got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Theophile Antonelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Matthieu Nicoud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bixente Bosc blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jean-Baptiste Lasson having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodrigue Mondet during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Garches getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Antoine Audet hit a great ball. With a little luck, Bagneux's Matthieu Nicoud got control of the ball when Theophile Antonelli tried to sneak it across the goal line. 72 minutes into the game, Arthur Jousseaume was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bagneux's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Garches the free kick. In the 72nd minute, Arthur Jousseaume hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 82 played minutes Garches got a freekick which was hit by Tim Gaborit. Bagneux's Hippolyte Archimbaud couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Garches. Jean-Baptiste Lasson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bixente Bosc in the 86th minute of play. Walter Chassaing got in the 87th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Jean-Baptiste Lasson handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Matthieu Nicoud showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Vernet in the 90th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Walter Chassaing managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bagneux's supporters rose to their feet, but Walter Chassaing was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jean-Baptiste Lasson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bixente Bosc struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Jean-Baptiste Lasson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bagneux. 97 minutes into the match, Garches's goal looked a bit too open when Herve Deflandre came free, but Jean-Baptiste Lasson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
