Pierre Voirin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guy Bosch having to make a save. Redouane Benezet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Steve Batista couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Redouane Benezet made a kick off. Prenay's supporters rose to their feet, but Aime Amar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joel Guillet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Despite being the better team, Prenay failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
