If Bob Selosse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute, Renaud Cortial got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 11th minute Thierry Benoit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Davy Vallot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Davy Vallot didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jean-Christophe Spielmann went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Eliott Talon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Davy Vallot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 30 minutes, Renaud Cortial managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gennevilliers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Renaud Cortial was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 32nd match minute, Gennevilliers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucien Haye to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean-Christophe Spielmann in the 33rd minute of play forced Gennevilliers's goalkeeper Davy Vallot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Justin Courtade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Davy Vallot didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thierry Benoit went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After 42 played minutes Roubaix got a freekick which was hit by Eliott Talon. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hubert Sola to strike the kick off in the second half. 60 minutes into the match, Roubaix's goal looked a bit too open when Hubert Sola came free, but Tanguy Meloni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hubert Sola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tanguy Meloni having to interfere. Davy Vallot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thierry Benoit, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After 74 played minutes Gennevilliers got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Porcher. Roubaix's Michel Bourgade couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 75th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Gennevilliers. After a rather tough play, Gennevilliers's Lucien Haye got a free kick in the 76th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Roubaix's Thierry Benoit sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Davy Vallot narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Gennevilliers getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Mathias Porcher hit a great ball. In the 88th minute, Hubert Sola made a precise shot to the right of Tanguy Meloni. Roubaix's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After having played for 93 minutes, Thierry Benoit managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Roubaix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thierry Benoit was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gennevilliers's goalkeeper Davy Vallot, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jean-Christophe Spielmann's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Davy Vallot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Roubaix walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
