Octave Jung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernard Cotton in the 7th minute of play. Joffrey Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 11 minutes into the match, Lyon's goalkeeper Octave Jung had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joffrey Ortiz. Anthony Cognard kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Octave Jung made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joffrey Ortiz in the 19th minute. Bernard Cotton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octave Jung having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Joffrey Ortiz could shoot a difficult shot in the 30th minute, which Octave Jung however easily saved by the left post. Octave Jung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernard Cotton, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After 39 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lyon! When the match had been going on for 41 minutes, Odomez's Desire Bremont got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Octave Jung. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Joffrey Ortiz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Odomez's supporters rose to their feet, but Joffrey Ortiz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Octave Jung breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ilan Lac might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Melvin Lacombe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ilan Lac ran back to his position shaking his head. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bernard Cotton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match Teddy Larose shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Octave Jung showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Lyon defense, Joffrey Ortiz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Octave Jung. The Lyon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Octave Jung should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Bernard Cotton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Octave Jung was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Herve Barreteau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melvin Lacombe having to interfere. 79 minutes into the game, Odomez's Bernard Cotton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Octave Jung made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Herve Barreteau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Melvin Lacombe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Lyon getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Guy Cron hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baptiste Mertz in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Octave Jung prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Lyon getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Wilfried Thibout hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernard Cotton in the 96th minute of play forced Lyon's goalkeeper Octave Jung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
