In the 7th minute, Nathan Gangloff hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geoffrey Morillon kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Mondelange's Desire Ribet tried to score from far away in the 10th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Desire Ribet kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Barnabe Soudan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grigny's supporters rose to their feet, but Barnabe Soudan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walter Ruffenach breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Walter Ruffenach showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barnabe Soudan, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Joris Sevestre might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joel Germany. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joris Sevestre ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Mondelange's zone, Barnabe Soudan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walter Ruffenach came out of the goal and Barnabe Soudan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mondelange's Walter Ruffenach proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Mondelange from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Grigny's zone, Joris Sevestre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Germany came out of the goal and Joris Sevestre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 30 minutes into the match, Mondelange's goalkeeper Walter Ruffenach had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Florent Thil. Sofiane Balay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Joel Germany tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 33 played minutes Grigny got a freekick which was hit by Henri Tourne. Sofiane Balay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Germany having to interfere. When Geoffrey Morillon was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 37 minutes had been played. In the 38th minute, Geoffrey Morillon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute Sofiane Balay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Germany saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sofiane Balay to make the kick off. Florent Thil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Grigny's Florent Thil got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Mondelange's zone, Florent Thil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walter Ruffenach came out of the goal and Florent Thil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Grigny's Henri Tourne got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Florent Thil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Florent Thil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joel Germany came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Mondelange's Sofiane Balay. But to his dismay, Sofiane Balay quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 80th minute, Florent Thil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sofiane Balay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Germany having to interfere. The Grigny supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Mondelange's performance. The match ended with a win for Mondelange.
