Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mathias Ribeiro started the match with the kick off. Nathan Lajoie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charly Pinguet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Vernaison's Josselin Maugendre got control of the ball when Steve Fuster tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14th minute, Vernaison's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Steve Fuster fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 16th minute, Charly Pinguet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nathan Lajoie was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Charly Pinguet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ernest Hauchecorne kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Steven Fauquembergue shot a long shot in the 27th minute and a light blocked Nathan Lajoie hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Vernaison's zone, Steve Fuster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josselin Maugendre came out of the goal and Steve Fuster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the match, Perrière's Pierre-Olivier Cabanne sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Josselin Maugendre narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mathias Ribeiro in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nathan Lajoie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A nice corner shot did that Steven Fauquembergue got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nathan Lajoie quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jean-Baptiste Ros in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nathan Lajoie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pierre-Olivier Cabanne to make the kick off. Eymeric Malot charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eymeric Malot the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Vernaison getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. After 61 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vernaison! Pierre-Olivier Cabanne scored 2-2 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Josselin Maugendre, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 73rd minute Mathias Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nathan Lajoie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th match minute, Vernaison was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eymeric Malot to maneuver through the defense. Steve Fuster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Josselin Maugendre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Perrière defense, Mathias Ribeiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nathan Lajoie. Josselin Maugendre breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Vernaison supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vernaison would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
