Péronnas's Louis Favier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norbert Dimier in the 5th minute of play. In the 7th minute Rodrigue Rigal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salomon Bihan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Péronnas's goal looked a bit too open when Norbert Dimier came free, but Louis Favier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 13 minutes, Norbert Dimier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montchat's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norbert Dimier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paul-Henri Sala hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Louis Favier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norbert Dimier, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigue Rigal in the 40th minute of play forced Montchat's goalkeeper Salomon Bihan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Emilien Pourtier came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Péronnas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emilien Pourtier couldn't finish the play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emilien Pourtier to make the kick off. Fabien Bion hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emilien Pourtier in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Salomon Bihan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 59 minutes into the game, Arnold Kerherve was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Montchat's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Péronnas the free kick. In the 59th minute, one of Montchat:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Montchat. Salomon Bihan was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Morgan Garrigue. In the 72nd minute Donald Basle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Louis Favier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Montchat booed when Péronnas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paul-Henri Sala didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norbert Dimier during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Donald Basle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Louis Favier having to interfere. In the 90th minute of the match Cyprien Hospital sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Louis Favier skillfully saved the ball. Felicien Schindler's late challenge caught a Montchat's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felicien Schindler helped the player get up and apologised.
