Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. David Robert started the match with the kick off. After 6 minutes of play, Beauchamp's David Robert made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benoit Laumond was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 10th match minute, Beauchamp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean-Philippe Monestier to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valerien Riffard got free with Jean-Christophe Hayot in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Alfred Frayssinet took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Jean-Christophe Hayot to make any attempt to save it. 18 minutes into the match, Saleux's goal looked a bit too open when David Robert came free, but Benoit Laumond reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Mohamed Rosse was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Beauchamp's supporters rose to their feet, but David Robert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benoit Laumond breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If David Robert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Robert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Benoit Laumond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valerien Riffard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the match, Beauchamp's goalkeeper Jean-Christophe Hayot had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valerien Riffard.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valerien Riffard to strike the kick off in the second half. Alfred Frayssinet might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jean-Christophe Hayot. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfred Frayssinet ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 54th minute, Jean-Marc Pirot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by Saleux's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eddy Moreaux was slow to take the kick. During this time Beauchamp's players had a chance to rest. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Pierre-Henri Chelle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beauchamp's supporters rose to their feet, but Pierre-Henri Chelle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benoit Laumond breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 64 minutes, David Robert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beauchamp's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Robert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Valerien Riffard struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Jean-Christophe Hayot didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saleux. Pierre-Henri Chelle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benoit Laumond having to interfere. David Robert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Benoit Laumond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When David Robert came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Beauchamp fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Robert couldn't finish the play. Jean-Marc Pirot kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Saleux's Benoit Laumond proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Saleux from getting a goal against them. In the 81st minute David Robert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benoit Laumond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benoit Laumond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Robert in the 89th minute of the match. If Pierre-Henri Chelle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pierre-Henri Chelle struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Benoit Laumond didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Beauchamp. The Beauchamp supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Beauchamp would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
