Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ramzi Eschbach took the kick off in the first half of the match. After some careless play in the Sauvian defense, Dilan Delmas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Florentin Jegouzo. The Sauvian fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Florentin Jegouzo should have stopped the shot. With an all-out effort, Sauvian's Romain Bachmann threw himself towards the right post 9 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ramzi Eschbach, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Jolan Bussiere fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sauvian's protests and gave Jolan Bussiere a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Betton booed when Sauvian was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jolan Bussiere didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jolan Bussiere got free with Romain Bachmann in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Simon Delacroix came free with the goalkeeper in the 21st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Romain Bachmann could save by the left post. If Albert Thill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 30 minutes of play, Betton's Dilan Delmas made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Florentin Jegouzo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dilan Delmas took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Florentin Jegouzo. Florentin Jegouzo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Simon Delacroix's late challenge caught a Betton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Simon Delacroix helped the player get up and apologised. In the 38th minute, Simon Delacroix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romain Bachmann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jolan Bussiere in the 41st minute. In the 42nd match minute, Betton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nathan Rivals to maneuver through the defense. Sauvian's Ramzi Eschbach got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Sauvian booed when Betton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nathan Rivals didn't get a good kick on the ball. Betton's Romain Bachmann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Betton from getting a goal against them. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dilan Delmas made a kick off. If Dilan Delmas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albert Thill got free with Florentin Jegouzo in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sauvian's Florentin Jegouzo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dilan Delmas in the 56th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Ramzi Eschbach got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ramzi Eschbach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Romain Bachmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Ramzi Eschbach had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Romain Bachmann. Betton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ramzi Eschbach was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. In the 70th minute Jolan Bussiere shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romain Bachmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Betton's Nathan Rivals got a free kick in the 77th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albert Thill got free with Florentin Jegouzo in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 85 minutes into the match, Betton's goal looked a bit too open when Ramzi Eschbach came free, but Romain Bachmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albert Thill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Florentin Jegouzo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romain Bachmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jolan Bussiere, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Albert Thill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Betton supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Betton would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
