The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bastien Chauvin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Malik Merlier might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rene Simonnot. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Malik Merlier ran back to his position shaking his head. Perpignan's William Fontana got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Allan Trehin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bastien Chauvin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Perpignan's zone, Malik Merlier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rene Simonnot came out of the goal and Malik Merlier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bastien Chauvin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Allan Trehin having to interfere. Malik Merlier struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Rene Simonnot didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vayres. Perpignan's Rene Simonnot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Malik Merlier in the 76th minute of play. If William Fontana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Allan Trehin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bastien Chauvin in the 81st minute of play.
