Valerien Folcher in the 12thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Noël Auclair, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celestin Maquaire in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Noël Auclair saved Vétraz from getting behind. Celestin Maquaire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the game, one of Reims:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Vétraz a penalty, 25 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hugues Gard, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Reims's Steve Ramirez. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Reims's Faustin Le Breton got a free kick in the 30th minute. Noël Auclair made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Valerien Folcher sent off a good shot on target. Herbert Quillien hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 39th match minute, Vétraz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carl Tirel to maneuver through the defense. Reims's Faustin Le Breton shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 40th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Noël Auclair but with some difficulty. Valerien Folcher could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Noël Auclair made a huge save. Valerien Folcher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot by Willy Bertho from long distance, 45 minutes into the match, got Noël Auclair's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 45 minutes into the game, Carl Tirel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vétraz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Reims the free kick. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valerien Folcher was the one to do the kick off. Reims's Steve Ramirez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Reims from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Reims getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Celestin Maquaire hit a great ball. If Marcel Friboulet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Flavian Frémaux had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Herbert Quillien hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute Marcel Friboulet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steve Ramirez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 85 minutes of play Vétraz's Carl Tirel was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 86 played minutes Vétraz got a freekick which was hit by Carl Tirel. 90 minutes into the match, Vétraz's goal looked a bit too open when Valerien Folcher came free, but Noël Auclair reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Noël Auclair stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valerien Folcher's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. Vétraz's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
