Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Fernand Messmer got the match started through his kick off. Madjid Bianchini hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Louison Husson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nancy's Fabrice Thouvenin got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fabrice Thouvenin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Mike Meslier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 19 played minutes, Quarouble's Charles-Emmanuel Massot shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Norbert Morey came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Quarouble reached it. With a little luck, Nancy's Norbert Morey got control of the ball when Louison Husson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fernand Messmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norbert Morey having to interfere. Fernand Messmer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Norbert Morey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Fabrice Thouvenin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mike Meslier was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. If Dimitri Dagorn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabrice Thouvenin was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Louison Husson in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norbert Morey saved Nancy from getting behind. In the 55th minute Fernand Messmer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norbert Morey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernand Messmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dimitri Dagorn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Mike Meslier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabrice Thouvenin in the 63rd minute of play forced Quarouble's goalkeeper Mike Meslier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Quarouble's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Fabrice Thouvenin 66 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. Dimitri Dagorn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Mike Meslier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mike Meslier didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 78th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. In the 82nd minute, Louison Husson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
