Corentin Deneuve made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Joel Pasquini sent off a good shot on target. In the 13th minute of the match, Donald Demont tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Corentin Deneuve saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Corentin Deneuve made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donald Demont in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th match minute, Kergaradec was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolphe Barbotin to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 17 minutes, Donald Demont managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grigny's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donald Demont was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Joel Pasquini came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Grigny fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Pasquini couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes into the match, Kergaradec's Honore Danis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lucien Bonnaire narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 30th minute Honore Danis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucien Bonnaire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Rodolphe Barbotin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Kergaradec's Paul Brousse got a free kick in the 32nd minute. If Joel Pasquini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Grigny booed when Kergaradec was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paul Brousse didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the match, Joel Pasquini had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Corentin Deneuve. Kergaradec's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joel Pasquini was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Samy Lemonnier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Kergaradec booed when Grigny was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Tessier didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute, Renan Duboscq fired a really elegant long shot, but Lucien Bonnaire threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. After a rather tough play, Grigny's Leonard Tessier got a free kick in the 56th minute. In the 60th minute, Joel Pasquini ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Corentin Deneuve was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Honore Danis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 64thth minute, Lucien Bonnaire skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 69th minute, Joel Pasquini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Samy Lemonnier blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lucien Bonnaire having to make a save. A collision led to Grigny getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Leonard Tessier hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Grigny's zone, Samy Lemonnier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucien Bonnaire came out of the goal and Samy Lemonnier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th minute, Raphael Duchemin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grigny fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. 89 minutes into the game, one of Grigny:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 91st minute there was a penalty for Kergaradec. Renan Duboscq stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lucien Bonnaire. 3-1. Corentin Deneuve took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donald Demont, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Grigny fans cheered their team off the field, for while Kergaradec had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
