Portel's Jean-Charles Laborde tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Portel's zone, Sofiane Zettor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean-Charles Laborde came out of the goal and Sofiane Zettor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jean-Charles Laborde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Ballot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute, Harold Jezequel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute of the match Olivier Chalard shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yvan Attia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 29th minute Sofiane Zettor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Charles Laborde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remi Rendu in the 38th minute of play forced Mouen's goalkeeper Yvan Attia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mario Droins short, quick shot in the 44thth minute got Yvan Attia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
Remi Rendu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yvan Attia having to make a save. In the 56th minute Remi Rendu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yvan Attia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The attack was good, but when Remi Rendu in the 57th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Remi Rendu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yvan Attia having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Mouen's goal looked a bit too open when Mario Droin came free, but Yvan Attia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 62 minutes, Edmond Hebrard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mouen and the Portel players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Mouen getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Edmond Hebrard hit a great ball. The supporters of Portel booed when Mouen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthieu Bettinger didn't get a good kick on the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Sofiane Zettor dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jean-Charles Laborde, 0-2. When Matthieu Bettinger fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mouen's protests and gave Matthieu Bettinger a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Portel booed when Mouen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthieu Bettinger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Remi Rendu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Yvan Attia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Portel's Remi Rendu in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mouen's goalie prevented a goal. After 91 played minutes Mouen got a freekick which was hit by Matthieu Bettinger. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Mario Droin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portel's supporters rose to their feet, but Mario Droin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yvan Attia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 95 played minutes Portel got a freekick which was hit by Harold Jezequel. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mouen eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
