After a defensive mix-up in Rieulay's zone, Leon Lorrain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Morgan Daumas came out of the goal and Leon Lorrain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rieulay's Morgan Daumas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Tiercelin in the 15th minute of play. Erwin Cantin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raymond Gleyze in the 17th minute. After 19 minutes, Alexis Burnel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rieulay and the Fèves players grew even worse after the yellow card. John Tiercelin, 23 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Raymond Gleyze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Fèves's Erwin Cantin got control of the ball when Raymond Gleyze tried to sneak it across the goal line. John Tiercelin struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Morgan Daumas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fèves. Morgan Daumas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Lorrain in the 42nd minute of play. Morgan Daumas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leon Lorrain's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. After having played for 46 minutes, Serge Bouziane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rieulay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Serge Bouziane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John Tiercelin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Leon Lorrain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donatien Lecas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Morgan Daumas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 56th minute by Leon Lorrain got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Tiercelin in the 62nd minute of play forced Rieulay's goalkeeper Morgan Daumas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leon Lorrain got free with Morgan Daumas in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leon Lorrain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Serge Bouziane in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Erwin Cantin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Morgan Daumas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Tiercelin, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 75 minutes into the match, Raymond Gleyze notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Fèves's Erwin Cantin. Erwin Cantin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
