After a rather tough play, Borny's Loïc Delgrange got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Désiré Goutte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michel Fournier, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The supporters of Borny booed when Drap was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Malik Henaff didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pierre-Henri Paccard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnaud Boulard, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Michel Fournier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute, Malik Henaff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Michel Fournier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Désiré Goutte having to interfere. In the 26th minute Theo Lewandowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Désiré Goutte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th match minute, Borny was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Léonard Lepoittevin to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michel Fournier in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Désiré Goutte saved Borny from getting behind. Désiré Goutte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michel Fournier, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Désiré Goutte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michel Fournier in the 40th minute of the match. Pierre-Henri Paccard came out of the goal in the 49th minute to try and stop a shot by Borny's Arnaud Boulard. But to his dismay, Arnaud Boulard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Drap's Michel Fournier got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Léonard Lepoittevin charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Léonard Lepoittevin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Borny getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Léonard Lepoittevin hit a great ball. Pierre-Henri Paccard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aziz Taleb in the 59th minute of play. Theo Lewandowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Désiré Goutte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Arnaud Boulard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borny's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnaud Boulard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pierre-Henri Paccard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Georges Lecouturier hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute Olivier Lahaye shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierre-Henri Paccard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute of the match Olivier Lahaye sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pierre-Henri Paccard skillfully saved the ball. Theo Lewandowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michel Fournier was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 82nd minute. Drap's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 90 minutes into the match, Borny's goalkeeper Désiré Goutte had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Theo Lewandowski. If Michel Fournier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Borny players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
