Gimeaux's supporters crossed their fingers, but Loic Milliot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aymerick Prime kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Brest's Herbert Sablon couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 12th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Gimeaux. Jeremy Raquin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Loic Milliot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erwan Coquet in the 21st minute of play forced Brest's goalkeeper Luka Herouard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Brest's Luka Herouard got control of the ball when Loic Milliot tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pierrick Neveu struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Teddy Schatz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brest. When Pierrick Neveu came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Brest fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pierrick Neveu couldn't finish the play. Charles-Henri Zerbib sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Leo Bernat came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Gimeaux fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leo Bernat couldn't finish the play. Brest's Luka Herouard proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Brest from getting a goal against them. Brest's Luka Herouard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erwan Coquet in the 38th minute of play. If Erwan Coquet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Charles-Henri Zerbib recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pierrick Neveu was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute of the match Darren Douard shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Teddy Schatz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Valentin Christen fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brest's protests and gave Valentin Christen a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Gimeaux booed when Brest was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Christen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute of the match Ilan Peters sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luka Herouard skillfully saved the ball. In the 67th minute Loic Milliot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luka Herouard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teddy Schatz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierrick Neveu in the 72nd minute of the match. When Charles-Henri Zerbib came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Brest fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charles-Henri Zerbib couldn't finish the play. After 81 played minutes, Gimeaux's Ilan Peters shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luka Herouard came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gimeaux reached it. After 82 played minutes Brest got a freekick which was hit by Valentin Christen. 83 minutes into the game, Gimeaux's Erwan Coquet nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luka Herouard made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Sacha Vienne charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sacha Vienne the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Teddy Schatz had in the 90thth minute some difficulties stopping Herbert Sablon's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Charles-Henri Zerbib sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erwan Coquet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
