In the 8th match minute, Portiragnes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luc Navarro to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute, Timothe Betton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portiragnes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Reynald Madelaine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Timothe Betton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roland Presse having to interfere. When Tommy Plassard fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vitrolles's protests and gave Tommy Plassard a yellow card for diving instead. Tommy Plassard kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Timothe Betton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roland Presse having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Timothe Betton to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Timothe Betton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portiragnes's supporters rose to their feet, but Timothe Betton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roland Presse breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Timothe Betton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roland Presse read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Thomas Biais sped through Portiragnes's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Guy Emonet. Ronald Chardonnet kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. After having played for 67 minutes, Tommy Plassard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vitrolles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tommy Plassard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 70 minutes, Timothe Betton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Timothe Betton struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Roland Presse didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portiragnes. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Portiragnes lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
