Publier were furious when Jean-Francois Tellier was red carded, 5 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Publier fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 4th minute. Penalty! Bixente Sorlin placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Franck Reymann might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frédéric Hibon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Franck Reymann ran back to his position shaking his head. Tony Lamouche fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frédéric Hibon having to interfere. After 12 minutes, Gabriel Le Petit mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chaville and the Publier players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Publier booed when Chaville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Le Petit didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franck Reymann struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Frédéric Hibon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Publier. Donovan Fievet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes into the match, Chaville's goalkeeper Frédéric Hibon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Franck Reymann. In the 24th minute, Gabriel Le Petit hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Franck Reymann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ernest Brown received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ronan Bidaud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frédéric Hibon made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Franck Reymann sent off a good shot on target. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Franck Reymann to make the kick off. A collision led to Publier getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Cyprien Corbin hit a great ball. After 59 minutes Publier's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bixente Sorlin who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franck Reymann in the 60th minute of play forced Chaville's goalkeeper Frédéric Hibon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frédéric Hibon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Franck Reymann's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Franck Reymann struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Frédéric Hibon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Publier. 67 minutes into the game, Erwann Mauduit was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chaville's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Publier the free kick. Erwann Mauduit hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. 69 minutes into the match, Chaville's goal looked a bit too open when Franck Reymann came free, but Frédéric Hibon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronan Bidaud didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tim Jean-Pierre went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 86th minute, Franck Reymann made a precise shot to the right of Frédéric Hibon. Chaville's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Franck Reymann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tim Jean-Pierre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Chaville players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
