A collision led to Thumeries getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Prosper Carrier hit a great ball. In the 14th minute, Jean-Marie Collin sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Thumeries's Élie Michard didn't even have to move. Ronald Nion showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Aubel in the 19th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Thumeries's goalkeeper Élie Michard had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martin Brien. Ronald Nion took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Aubel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, Martin Brien left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Walbach fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 39th minute Hubert Berthelier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronald Nion saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Walbach's Nicolas Delmotte got a free kick in the 39th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgard Aubel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After recieving a nice pass, Walbach's Jean-Marie Collin tried to score from far away in the 55th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Thumeries's zone, Jean-Christophe Marcotte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Élie Michard came out of the goal and Jean-Christophe Marcotte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jean-Christophe Marcotte during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 60th minute, Jean-Christophe Marcotte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronald Nion showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Aubel in the 62nd minute of the match. Edgard Aubel struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Ronald Nion didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thumeries. If Jean-Christophe Marcotte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee showed Jean-Marie Collin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Walbach fans cheered their team off the field, for while Thumeries had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
