When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Zinedine Daude sped through Gattières's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jean-Philippe Leseur. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zinedine Daude in the 29th minute of play forced Gattières's goalkeeper Jean-Philippe Leseur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kader Lépicier in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jean-Philippe Leseur saved Gattières from getting behind. After some careless play in the Chaville defense, Jason Plaza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christian Bocher. The Chaville fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christian Bocher should have stopped the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eric Orhan to strike the kick off in the second half. Kader Lépicier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kader Lépicier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Philippe Leseur having to interfere. In the 93rd minute Kader Lépicier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Philippe Leseur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Eric Orhan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gattières's supporters rose to their feet, but Eric Orhan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christian Bocher breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
